Paul W. Ronn

GARDNER – Paul W. Ronn, 80, of 145 Prospect Street, died unexpectedly Thursday morning, May 7, 2020 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

He was born in Gardner on October 30, 1939, son of the late Waino and Helmi (Sund) Ronn and was a lifelong resident of Gardner.  Paul was a 1957 graduate of Gardner High School and attended Worcester Boys Trade School.  Paul proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army and had the rank of Specialist 5.

Paul worked for forty years at Reed Rolled Thread Die Co. in Holden and retired as manager of special projects.  Paul was also a call lieutenant on the Gardner Fire Department for many years.  Active in church and civic groups, Paul was a long time member of First Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir and worked on many buildings and grounds projects.  He was a member of So. Gardner Golf Association, Strawberry Patch RC Pilots, Quinipoxet Model Flying Club, Gardner Rifle and Pistol Club and No. Berwick Rod and Gun Club.  Paul was a former member of Hope Lodge of Masons.  For the last 45 years, he and his family had summered in Wells, Maine.  He enjoyed cooking and camping and had played baseball, hockey and skied in earlier years.

He leaves his wife of 54 years, Dorothy M. (Sanden) Ronn; two children, Matthew P. Ronn and his wife Alison of Boylston, and Piper E. Ronn of Sanford, ME; grandchildren, Seth P. Ronn-Tremblay, Parker Ronn, Mason Ronn and Evan Ronn and his nieces and nephews, Wayne Ronn, Wendy Pervier, Peggy Dow, Dr. Kristine Sanden, Eric Sanden and Lars Sanden.  A brother, Walfred Ronn, preceded him in death.

A memorial service will be held in First Baptist Church, 14 High Street, Gardner Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 2 P.M..

Burial will be in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.
