Michael E. Nicholas

GARDNER – Michael E. Nicholas, 69, of Gardner, died peacefully Sunday evening, October 17, 2021 in Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston.

He was born in Gardner on January 27, 1952, son of the late Bryan O. and Helen S. (Zielinski) Nicholas Jr. and was a resident of Gardner for most of his life.

A woodworker, Mike had worked at Gem Industries, Nichols and Stone Furniture Company and S. Bent Furniture Company.  Mike was a former Boy Scout leader and loved the outdoors, enjoying camping, fishing and gardening.  An avid sports fan, he followed the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox.  In recent years, he enjoyed metal detecting.

He leaves four children, Darcy Everett and husband Les of New Sharon, ME, Kylie Baker of Waterville, ME, Susan Nicholas and husband Timathy Caskey of Gardner and William Nicholas and wife Margie of Gardner; seven grandchildren, Gregory, Emayleth, Hannah, Phillip, Russell, Charlotte and Lilly; two brothers, Bryan O. Nicholas 3rd and wife Cher of Hatfield, MA and Raymond Nicholas and wife Kathy of Greenfield; a sister, June Williams of Gardner; a special friend, Carol Bellevue and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Nicholas.

Graveside services will be held Friday, October 22, 2021 at 12 Noon in Green Bower Cemetery, Gardner.  There are no calling hours.
