Martin R. Haley

TEMPLETON – Martin R. Haley, 80, of 99 South Road, died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 7, 2021 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

He was born in Gardner on January 7, 1941 and was a resident of Templeton or most of his life.

A plumber by trade, Martin owned and operated M.R. Haley Plumbing and Heating for many years.  For the last ten years, he had worked at Chair City Oil.  During the Vietnam War, Marty proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.

Marty will be remembered a very kind and giving man.  He had been a North Quabbin Lodge of Freemasons and enjoyed fishing, bee keeping, taking care of his yard and bird watching.  Marty was one of the founding members of the Stardusters Band, where he played his rhythm guitar.

He leaves his wife of 25 years, Carole J. (Ilinitch) Haley; three children, Diane L. Haley of Baldwinville, Mark R. Haley of Templeton and Patty Morrissey and her husband Philip of Templeton; a brother, Robert Haley of Templeton; a sister, Kathy Gould of Keene, NH; nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Alan Haley, Stephen Haley and Richard Haley.

Military funeral services will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 at 3 P.M. in Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
