GARDNER – Joyce A. Brown, 80, of 77 Prospect Street, died peacefully Monday morning, January 18th, in Baldwinville Nursing Home, Baldwinville.

She was born in Gardner on January 1, 1936, daughter of the late Hugh Allen and Annette (Couture) Henchey and was a resident of Gardner for most of her life.  Joyce was a graduate of Gardner High School.

Joyce had worked at Heywood Wakefield Furniture Co. and Pine Mill Furniture Co.  She was a member of Holy Spirit Church and was a huge fan of the New England Patriots.  A lover of children, she found her greatest enjoyment to be spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her two husbands, Walter J. Zacharewicz and Donald J., Brown.  She leaves two children, Kelly A. Lafond and her husband Brian of Winchendon and Michael W. Zacharewicz and his wife Julie of Ludlow; four grandchildren, Kristen Williams and her husband Jonathan, Justin Lafond and his wife Heather, Tanner Zacharewicz and Kyle Zacharewicz; two great grandchildren, Madison Lafond and Jacquelyn Lafond; two sisters, Mary Goodwin and her husband Robert of Southwick and Paulette LeBlanc and her husband Henry of Safford, AZ;  a sister –in-law Linda Henchey of Ashland and several nieces and nephews.  A brother, Donald Henchey, predeceased her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, January 25th at 10 A.M. in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell Street, Gardner.  Burial will follow in St. Johns Cemetery.

There are no calling hours.
