Dennis P. Richards

ATHOL – Dennis P. Richards, 60, died peacefully at his residence on Saturday morning, July 18, 2015, with his family at his side, after a courageous year long battle with brain cancer.

He was born on September 5, 1954, in Brattleboro, Vermont, son of the late Lillian I. (Thomson) and Frederick Richards.  He grew up in Athol, where he lived all of his life.  In 1973, Dennis graduated from Athol High School.

Dennis owned and operated Boys Donut Shop with his wife for several years.  He is known for making the best donuts in town.  Outside of work, he very much enjoyed computers and would help anyone, who needed assistance.  He also enjoyed genealogy and creating his family tree.

He leaves his best friend and wife of 29 years, Sheree (Sbrocca) Richards; a son, Christopher of Orange; two daughters, Selina Citrowski of North Carolina and Brandi Harris of Gardner.  He also leaves his grandchildren, who meant the world to him; Kyla Citrowski of North Carolina, Ross Harris of Gardner, Lily, Bradley and Charlotte Richards of Orange, as well as several nieces and nephews.  Dennis was predeceased by three brothers, Frederick Richards, Walter Richards and Michael Richards, and a granddaughter, Nevia Harris.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 1st at 11 A.M. in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol.  The Rev. Mark Bariloni will officiate.
