SPENCER – David A. Grigarauskas, 53, passed away in his home on January 31, 2016 in Newport, TN after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Grigarauskas was born on August 4, 1962 in Worcester, MA to his parents, Walter and Gladys (Edgington).  He was raised in Spencer and was a graduate of David Prouty High School.  He served fourteen years in the United States Army.

Mr. Grigarauskas was an avid fisherman.  He also enjoyed hunting and was a big fan of the New England Patriots.  He was employed by Unified Marine Inc, where he managed their company warehouses, first in Florida and later at their Tennessee location.

He is survived by his longtime companion, Christine Persails and her grandson Joshua of Newport, TN; his son Michael Grigarauskas of Spencer; his mother Gladys Grigarauskas of Gardner; his brothers, Joseph Grigarauskas and his spouse Gregory Lahtinen of Southbridge and Robert Grigarauskas and his spouse Marlene of Spencer; his sister Dawn Fontaine and her spouse Harold of Templeton; his grandson, Lucas; his nephew Ryan Grigarauskas and his wife Angela; niece Julie Grigarauskas and her fiancé Justin and great nephew Mason.  He is preceded in death by his father Walter W.J. Grigarauskas.

Military funeral services will be held Monday, February 8th at 11 AM in Massaachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.  There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
