Charlotte E. (McElroy) Wedum

March 1, 1937 — December 12, 2015

WINCHENDON – Charlotte Edna (McElroy) Wedum, 78, of 409 Maple Street, formerly of Kalispell and Missoula, Montana, died peacefully at her residence Saturday morning, December 12th.

She was born in Caldwell, Idaho on March 1, 1937, daughter of the late Phillip McElroy and Edna M. Hoadley, and graduated from high school in Salem, Oregon.  Charlotte moved to Winchendon a year ago to live with her daughter.

Charlotte lived for many years in Kalispell, Montana, where she worked as an assistant manager at Fashion Fabrics and later owned her own business selling and trading antiques.  She enjoyed sewing, reading, fishing, and spending time with her husband and six children, which was her greatest enjoyment and passion. She loved to sing and cook, a passion she passed on to her children through the love she put into her many original recipes, many of which were published in various cookbooks throughout the Northwest.

She left behind six children, Michael A. Wedum (Dioselina) of San Antonio, TX, P. Kathleen Barnett (David) of Olympia, WA, Christina M. Barber (Freeman) of Flowery Branch, GA, Eric B. Wedum (Kristi) of Pacific, WA, William J. Wedum (Kelly) of Oceanside, WA and Patricia M. Wedum (Scott) of Winchendon, MA, a sister, Phyllis Chambers of Missoula, MT; a brother, retired Colonel Dr. Frederick Hoadley of Boise, ID, a brother Ronald Kingsbry of CA, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 37 years, James W. Wedum, and a son, Ricky.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

There are no calling hours.

Memorial donations may be made to The Arthritis Foundation.
