Steven R. Gauthier, Sr.

June 12, 1953 — April 8, 2024

Winchendon

In loving memory of Steven R. Gauthier Sr., who passed away on Monday, April 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family after bravely battling COPD and cancer for many years. Born on June 12, 1953, Steven attended Murdock High School and was employed as a laborer at National Seat and Rau Brothers.

He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He cherished every moment with his loved ones, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience. Steven found joy in cheering for New England sports teams, watching wrestling, and his incredible love for his nine grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. Steve left a mark on everyone he met with his witty sense of humor, infectious laugh, his positive outlook despite his illness, and was known for his knack for debating anyone, even those who shared his views, leaving behind a legacy of spirited discussions and intellectual exchange.

He is survived by his loving wife and caregiver, Kelly (Vaillancourt) Gauthier; his son Jason and wife Lea; daughter Brandi and husband Dan; son Steven Jr. and wife Christina; son Timothy; his grandchildren: Eliza, Jorryn, Robbie, Steven III, Gannon, Blake, Sophia, Kasen, and Kenzie; his brother Fremont and wife Jean; sister Linda; and his cat Buster Brown. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fremont and Irene (Lefebvre) Gauthier; his son Christopher Gauthier; sister Gina Brooks; and family dog Babi.

Though Steve may have left this world, his memory will forever live on in our hearts, inspiring us to embrace each day with courage, compassion, optimism, and gratitude. A celebration of his remarkable life will be held in June. In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Steve's memory with a donation to the American Lung Association, the American Cancer Society, or a charity close to your heart.
