GARDNER-Roger J. Nault, 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 28, 2023, with his grandson, Ian by his side.
Roger was born in Leominster on October 28, 1927 according to his mother, but according to his birth certificate he was born on October 29, 1927. Roger was the son of the late Alphonse and Virginie (Charpentier) Nault. He graduated from St. Cecilia's School then went to Saxon Trade School for a while but he was mostly self taught. He worked at Commonwealth Plastics in Leominster, where he worked as a mold maker for his uncle Louis Charpentier, his boss and mentor. He was an amazing man and could do anything. He designed a blow molding machine in the mid 60's where many of them were sold through the Rocheleau Tool and Die Company. He had his own company called Rosade Machine Design Company. He also loved to work with wood. He was a devoted father, grandfather and a wonderful husband to his loving wife. He and mom loved to travel. They went cross country four times and that's when he was the happiest, behind the wheel.
Roger is survived by his son, Dennis (Sherry Scott), two daughters, Rollande LeDuc and her husband Ken, and Sandra Nault (Bruce Bindman); four grandchildren, Marc Lanza and his wife Crystal, Shelby Dion and her husband, Mike, Ian Nault, and Joey Nault (Taylor Goguen); four great-grandchildren, Gabe Dion, Josh Dion, Zachary Edwards, and Natasha Hodgin; four great great-grandchildren, Sophia, Mason, Penelope and Isla. He also leaves his best friend, Claudia; two brothers, Joseph Nault and Rene Nault and his wife Maria; three sisters, Georgette Ducharme, Jeannine Murphy, and Lorraine Nault Malozzi: one sister-in-law, Mae Haney; and many nieces and nephews, who all loved him very much.
He is predeceased by his loving wife, Gisele (Bessette) Nault, two brothers, Gerard Nault and Lionel Nault; two sisters, Theresa Miller and Patricia Stockwell; and three sisters-in-law, Gertrude Montaquila, Estelle Cuddahy, and Doris David.
Roger served in the Naval Reserves for four years with his best friend, Jim Griffin, where he spent time in Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba.
