Robert F. Johnson, Jr.

WINCHENDON - Robert F. "Jay" Johnson, Jr., 41, of 124 Morse Avenue, died Wednesday, November 9th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner after being stricken ill at home. He was born in Winchendon on February 25,1964 and was a resident of Winchendon for most of his life. Jay was a self-employed general contractor, operating R.F.J. Construction Company in Winchendon. He attended Murdock High School and was a member of its football team. He was later honored, being elected as a member of the Murdock High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 193 and was a former member of the Winchendon Rod and Gun Club. His hobbies included NASCAR racing, barbecuing on his grill, collecting sports memorabilia and tending to his flower gardens. He leaves his wife of 15 years, Laurie M. (Hanshaw) Johnson; two children, Cheyenne M. Adams and Erik E. Adams, both of Winchendon; his parents, Robert F. and Bonnie (Cass) Johnson of Baldwinville; a granddaughter, Hannah Krantz; three sisters, Robin Steinbring and Susan Dionne, both of Winchendon and Heather Gagnon of Hubbardston, several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as many friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, November 15th in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Barry Risto, pastor of the Cornerstone Church of the Assemblies of God, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be from 6-8 P.M. Monday, November 14th.
