Robert "Bob" Harland Patria

Robert "Bob" Harland Patria, died peacefully at his home at Broadview Assisted Living in Wincendon, MA on May 21, 2025, he was 91 years old. 

He was born to Harland and Eleanor (Gannon) Patria in Winchendon at the Millers River Hospital. 

He lived in Fitzwilliam, NH during his early years and then moved to Winchendon where he spent the rest of his life. 

He leaves a half-sister, Janis E. Duffy of Fitzwilliam, NH, and his beloved friend Barbara Oakef, who resides at Broadview Assisted Living. 

Bob attended schools in Winchendon and graduated from Murdock High School in 1952. After High School Bob entered the US Army and served during the Korean War. Returning home, he was employed as a machinist at the General Electric Plant in Leominster, where he worked until his retirement. 

In his spare time and retirement, Bob enjoyed skiing, dancing, card playing, reading, and golf. He excelled in all of his endeavors. He was a member of the Toy Town Tavern Golf Club for many years. 

Bob was intelligent and an independent thinker who stood by his convictions stubbornly. He enjoyed arguing even if it was for fun. He had a quick mind and wit. He always had a joke to share and had a great smile and laugh. Even when Bob was in hospice care he would come up with a remark that brought laughter to those around him. 

Thank you to Broadview Assisted Living, Gardner Rehabilitation, Care Central  Hospice, and the French Connection for coordinating and providing wonderful care for Bob during his final days and hours. 

A memorial service will be held Friday, June 6, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA 01475.
