WINCHENDON – Paulina M. Stevenson., age 90, of Winchendon, passed away on
Wednesday, May 13, 2020. She was a hard-working devoted and loving mother. She joins
her husband, the late Loring Stevenson, and leaves three sons, the late Loring Stevenson
Jr., David Stevenson, and Christopher Stevenson; a daughter, Lisa Stevenson; five
grandchildren, Chelsy Arber, Matt Stevenson, Rachel Stevenson, Kyler Stevenson, and
Kealy Whidden and a great-grandson, Maxfield Arber.
Born in Heath, MA, Paulina was one of 13 children who attended a one-room school. A high
school graduate of Arms Academy at Shelburne Falls, MA., she went on to receive her B.S.
and Masters Degree from Fitchburg State College.
Paulina’s career in education began in Winchendon, MA., as Teaching-Principal of White
School, Special Needs Coordinator at Streeter School, and Kindergarten at Memorial
School. She was an active member of the Winchendon Woman’s Club and often a
volunteer in support of the Immaculate Heart of Mary church. Paulina combined her
faith-based lifestyle and interest in business-ownership by opening The Christian Book
Store on Main St., Winchendon, and an antique shop in Winchendon Springs.
“Pauli,” as she was called, and her husband Loring enjoyed retirements as licensed
auctioneers in New Hampshire, where she found added success as owner and operator of
Pauli’s Restaurant in Tilton, NH.
She was dearly loved and will be truly missed.
There will be no service or calling hours.
A private Celebration of Life with the family will be announced at a later date.
