Nancy B. Hildreth

WINCHENDON - Nancy B. (Cleveland) Hildreth, 77, formerly of 15 Harvard Street, Winchendon, died early Wednesday morning, September 28th in her daughter's home in Rindge, N.H. following an illness. She was born in Rindge on April 18,1928, the daughter of Walter A. and Mary D. (Burt) Cleveland and had resided in Winchendon for 57 years before moving to Rindge in January. Nancy was a graduate of Conant High School in Jaffrey, N.H. with the class of 1946 and the Worcester Beauty Academy. She owned and operated Nancy's Beauty Salon in Winchendon for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Unitarian-Universalist Church in Winchendon and was a former treasurer of the Putnam Alliance of the church. She was also a member of the former Winchendon Women's Club and the Winchendon Historical Society. She was once a Girl Scout leader. Nancy enjoyed crafts, painting and spending time with her grandchildren. Her husband of 56 years, Donald R. Hildreth, died August 11,2004. Nancy leaves two daughters, Virginia L. Leahy of Rindge, with whom she lived and Susan B. Ashmore of Winchendon; a brother, Bradlee W. Cleveland of Lyndeborough, N.H.; a sister, Beryl C. Taylor of Rindge; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a daughter, Cheryl A. Hildreth, in 1989, and a brother, Richard A. Cleveland in 1990. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 1st at 11 A.M. in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Jennie A. Barrington, minister of the Unitarian-Universalist Church, will officiate. Private burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon. A calling hour will be held Saturday in the funeral home from 10-11 A.M. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice at HCS, P.O.
