ASHBURNHAM – Michael E. Dugas, 61, of Ashburnham, died peacefully Saturday evening, May 8, 2021 in his residence, with his family at his side.
He was born in Fort Riley, Kansas, son of Earl P. and Lizalotte (Matz) Dugas and grew up in Fitchburg and was a 1978 graduate of Fitchburg High School, where he was a member of its marching band. Mike later attended Berkely School of Music.
Mike had been Minister of Music for several years at Harvard Congregational Church. He later worked at Our Lady of Good Council in West Boylston. He last worked as Minister of Music at Christian Science Church in Nashua, NH. Mike was a music teacher or 12 years, doing private lessons at Country Day School of the Holy Union in Groton. He also taught piano and organ lessons for many years to students, from the ages of 5 to 95.
He leaves his wife of 31 years, Bethany Glidden-Dugas and a daughter, Elizabeth Dugas and her fiancé Noah of Ware, MA.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Mike was a lover of music, art, nature and life.
