Mary Rita Antonellis

WINCHENDON - Mary Rita (Fewry) Antonellis, 87, of 22 Oak Street, Winchendon, died early Thursday, October 13th in the Baldwinville Nursing Home following an illness. She was born in Waltham on December 11,1917, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Cormay) Fewry and had resided in Winchendon for 56 years. Rita was a graduate of Brighton High School with the class of 1934 and the Cambridge Hospital School of Nursing in 1939. She was a registered nurse at the former Winchendon Hospital for many years until her retirement. She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Rita was a former Cub Scout, Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She was very active in the Parent Teacher Association when her children were in school. She was a former Board member of the Gardner Visiting Nursing Association, and was a member of the former Winchendon Women's Club. She enjoyed painting and received her Associate Degree in Art from Mount Wachusett Community College. Rita's husband of 45 years, Dr. Carl J. Antonellis, M.D., died in 1986. She leaves three sons, Atty. Carl J. Antonellis, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Westfield, Paul J. Antonellis and his wife Betsy of Yarmouthport, and Peter D. Antonellis and his wife Susan of Winchendon; a daughter, Jean M. Arceci and her husband, Robert of Baltimore, MD; 11 grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a grandson, Joseph Davini. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 17th from the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street. Burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Sunday, October 16th from 6-8 P.M.
