Marion L. Gay

January 13, 1939 — May 28, 2026

Baldwinville

It is with a touch of sweet humor and a lot of love that we celebrate the life of Marion Louise Gay, affectionately known as Mimi by her grandchildren. Marion was born on January 13th, 1939, in the City of Gardner, MA, and grew up in in the quaint village of Baldwinville, Town of Templeton, MA. A compassionate soul, she spent her professional life as a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant, providing care to those who needed it most. However, she was also known for her witty charm and thoughtful nature, traits that endeared her to many.

When she wasn't sharing her joyful spirit at work, Marion could be found strolling around her beloved residence in Baldwinville and could often be found at the former local library. Marion and her husband, Bob, had a love of travel, with a particular fondness for Florida’s sunny winters. She was a person who savored life's simple pleasures. Marion's faith was a cornerstone of her life. As a respected member of the Baldwinville Memorial Congregational Church, she lent her voice to the choir in her younger years.

Marion's zest for life was rooted in her Finnish heritage, growing up surrounded by a lively bunch of aunts, uncles, and cousins who were always ready to burst into song and instrumental music. Yet, what mattered most to Marion was her own beautiful family. She cherished her grandchildren as they grew, and her relationship with her close friends and family was the cornerstone of her quiet, modest life.

Marion is lovingly remembered by her husband, Robert Gay; her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Wayne (Chuck) Nasiatka; Granddaughter Kate Nasiatka and husband Stephane Coriolan; Grandson Thomas Nasiatka and husband Dan Albert; her sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Bob Columbus; and her nieces and nephews, Deborah Howson, Donna Richard and her husband Roger, Amy Columbus, and Robert Columbus. Marion was preceded in death by her father, Stanley Young; her mother, Elsie Smith; and her sister, Joan Antilla.

In memory of our witty and compassionate Marion, we invite you to share your favorite anecdotes and upload photos of her on the memorial page. Your stories and pictures will help keep her spirit alive, just as her warmth and laughter live on in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Baldwinville Memorial Congregational Church, PO Box 100, Baldwinville, MA 01436, or the Dementia Activity Fund at the Highlands, 335 Nichols Road, Fitchburg, MA 01420
