WINCHENDON – Lorraine P. (Pelletier) Tuttle, 88, of 106A Ipswich Drive, Winchendon died unexpectedly Friday, September 16 th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

She was born in Amesbury, MA on February 21, 1923, daughter of Romeo Pelletier and Helen (Gosselin) Pelletier Helie, and lived in Winchendon for most of her life.

Lorraine worked 53 years in office administration, retiring in 1993 as executive secretary and office manager at Rau Brothers. She previously worked at Mason-Parker, Winchendon Furniture and Kenneth White Engineering. A 1940 graduate of Murdock High School, Lorraine was past treasurer of Eugene M. Connor Post 193 American Legion Auxiliary, past treasurer and financial secretary of Daughters of Isabella, past treasurer of Jumptown Twirlers Square Dance Club, and past bookkeeper of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where she had also been a lector and eucharistic minister. Her hobbies included music and dancing. During World War Two, Lorraine published two songs, “That Was Before Pearl Harbor” and “The Victory Waltz.”

She leaves her husband of 16 years, Kenneth A. Tuttle; one daughter, Cheryl M. Shaw of Lunenburg; one sister, Marie Powley-Quinlan of Rindge, NH; two grandchildren, Lucas Shaw and Ashley Shaw of Fitchburg; two stepchildren David D. Tuttle and his wife Evelyn of Swanzey, NH and Elaine M. Greenwood and her husband Scott of Antrim, NH and many nephews and nieces. Her first husband, Charles E. Montour, died in 1993. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her siblings, Lauria Werner, Russell Pelletier, Marge Baldinelli and Richard Helie.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 21 st from Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Calling hours in the funeral home will be Tuesday, September 20 th from 6 to 8 P.M.
