Lois V. (Gustafson) Gronlund, 96, of Gardner, died peacefully Tuesday, May 6th, 2025 in her home, following a brief illness.
Lois was born in Gardner on April 4, 1929, the daughter of the late Harold and Elizabeth (Ainsworth) Gustafson. She lived in Gardner her entire life. She graduated from Gardner High School with the class of 1947. Lois was employed by Simplex Time Recorder Company as an Inventory Clerk, retiring in 1992.
She was a lifelong member of First Lutheran Church and then Faith Lutheran Church. She was an active church member, both singing in the choir and on the Altar Guild committee for over 60 years. She was well known for making homemade Swedish coffee bread for the fall church fair.
Lois enjoyed spending time with her two grandsons, especially Sunday dinners, and then watching the Patriots and other sports on TV. She also enjoyed cooking, crossword puzzles, polka dancing, and summer vacations at the Cape.
Lois was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Chester W. Gronlund, who died in 1997.
She leaves two sons, Jeffrey and Richard, two grandsons, Jason and Jonathan, a brother Ronald, and his wife Anne. She received care and support in her home for several years from three health aides, Brenda Blodgett, Brenda Carrillo, and Sally Pratt, and formed a special bond with each one.
Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, Inc. 343 Central Street, Winchendon has been entrusted with her arrangements.
