Gardner

Kenneth R Bonk, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away on January 12, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on April 24, 1943, in Gardner, Massachusetts, Kenneth made a life that was well-lived, and filled with passion, service, and love. For Kenneth, his purpose was found in the skies. After graduating from Gardner High School in 1961 and Wentworth Institute of Technology, he went to California to become an aviation technician. He returned to his native city to fly for Wyman Gordon CO, Corp Charter, and MIT Lincoln Laboratories, which he did until his retirement at the age of 69.

Kenneth was not only an accomplished corporate pilot but also a proud flight instructor, sharing his love of flight with countless others. He served on the Gardner Airport Commission, was a member of the NRA, and the AOPA, and was a former member of the Worcester Masons. Beyond his professional contributions, Kenneth was an avid hobbyist. His passion for flight never waned, and he enjoyed every moment in the air.

Kenneth is survived by his daughters, Bethany (Jean-Louis) Arseneau, Lt Col Ret, Brenda Bonk, (Col Ret, John Fant), and Tara Ryan; his brother Stanley (Judy) Bonk; two grandsons, Jack Fant and 1st Lieutenant, Peter Fant. He was preceded in death by his son, Brandon Bonk, and his parents, Peter and Madalyn Bonk.
