WINCHENDON – Kathy A. (Hackett) Blouin, 63, of 465 Central Street, died peacefully Monday afternoon, September 20, 2021 in Boston Medical Center, with her husband at her side.
She was born in Gardner on August 23, 1958, daughter of the late Harold and Shirley (Erickson) Hackett Jr. and was a 1976 graduate of Murdock High School. Kathy furthered her education, earning Associate Degrees from Mount Wachusett Community College and Greenfield Community College.
Kathy worked as a teller at the former Gardner Cooperative Bank many years ago and later worked for fifteen years at Digital Equipment Company. Her most recent job was working at Teleflex for two years. She was a volunteer at Ahimsah Haven Animal Rescue and was a participant and Team Captain at the annual Gardner Relay for Life. She had also sold Avon products since 2008.
She leaves her husband of 43 years, Timothy E. Blouin; her brothers and sisters, David Hackett of Gardner, Susan E. Poikonen and husband Eric of Rindge, Peter E. Hackett and wife Lisa of Virginia Beach, VA and Karen M. Hackett of Winchendon; three nieces, Emily Poikonen, Sarah Poikonen and Renee Blouin and two nephews, Christopher Blouin and Chad Blouin.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 2 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. Services will be streamed and may be viewed at https://webcasts.lifetributes.com/1164911
Calling hours will precede the service from 12 to 2 PM Sunday in the funeral home.
