WINCHENDON - Juliet (Pomponio) Connor, 84, of 180 Spring Street, died Wednesday, August 31st in Heywood Hospital, Gardner after being stricken ill in her home. She was born in Jaffrey, NH on October 31,1920, the daughter of Giustino and Maria (Leone) Pomponio and had resided in Winchendon for 61 years. Julie was a graduate of Conant High School in Jaffrey with the class of 1938. She was employed as an inspector at New Hampshire Ball Bearings for 35 years before her retirement. She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, and enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. Julie's husband of 57 years, Herman F. Connor, died in 2001. She leaves a son, Harry J. Connor of Rindge, NH; a daughter, Sara M. Merriam of Westminster; a sister, Mary DelRossi of Jaffrey; four grandchildren, a great-grandson and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 3rd from the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home will be Friday, September 2nd from 6-8 P.M.
