Joyce I. Leighton

TEMPLETON – Joyce I. (Strange) Leighton, 94, of Baldwinville, died peacefully Tuesday morning, July 5, 2022 in her residence, with her family at her side.

She was born in Natick, MA on February 28, 1928, daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Hadley) Strange and was a graduate of Natick High School.  She lived for several years in Cochituate and moved to Baldwinville in 1994.

Joyce had worked for 15 years as a packer at Zayres Warehouse in Natick.  Her hobbies were doing puzzles, sewing, knitting and crocheting.  Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.  Her favorite color was kelly green.

She leaves six children, Guy Leighton of Stratford, NH, Cindy Ward of CA, Dwight Leighton of CT, Jeanne King of Athol, Grover Leighton of Harrisville, RI and Paul Leighton of Miami, FL; 20 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was the last living child of Frank and Helen Strange.

She was preceded in death by two children, Clifford Leighton and David Leighton.

Funeral services will be private.

Burial will be in Dell Park Cemetery, Natick.
