Joseph A Tonet, Sr

Winchendon - Joseph A. Tonet, Sr, 77, died Saturday, March 4th, 2023, at Leominster Hospital after an illness. 

He leaves his wife, Susan D. (Lemmer) Tonet; two sons, Joseph A Tonet, Jr and Edward Tonet; four grandchildren, Katie, Angela, Eddie, and Addison; two great-grandchildren, Warren and Everleigh; and one brother, Dante Tonet of Lunenburg.

He was born in Fitchburg on May 27, 1945, a son of the late Ernest and Rachel (Mattson) Tonet. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War in the 101st Airborne. He worked for James River Corporation for 25 years, with an additional 25 years at Seaman Paper Company.

Joseph enjoyed going deep sea fishing with his sons, family parties, gardening, and going to Foxwoods with his wife. He was a member of the Otter River Sportsman’s Club. 

A graveside service will be held in the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glennallen Street, Winchendon, MA 01475, on March 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with military honors.
