John D. Connelly

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Dennis Connelly, born on October 22, 1946, in Chelsea, MA, USA, who left us on November 21, 2025. John, a lifelong resident of Massachusetts, had resided in Athol since 2012, having previously lived in the Templeton Developmental Center. John worked as a groundskeeper on a farm where his dedication and hard work were recognized and appreciated by many. In more recent times, John enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as watching scary movies and laughing at episodes of the Three Stooges.

He is survived by his brothers, Stephen (Helen) Connelly, Neal (Clare) Connelly, and Robert (Patricia) Connelly, and his sister Barbara (Robert) Beauchamp. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, John and Marie Connelly.

John's life was a demonstration of quiet resilience and a testament to the power of love and family. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, a kind heart, and a quiet, supportive presence in the lives of his loved ones.
