Ashby- JoAnn (Tukianen) Hardy, 66, died Monday, December 19, 2022, at Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH after a brief illness.
She leaves behind her three children, Jena Hill and her husband BJ Hill of Rutland, Kara Hardy and her boyfriend, Jeffrey Beirholm of Gardner, and Thomas Hardy of Ashby: one grandson, Andrew Hill of Rutland; her mother Helmi (Honkala) Linnus of Ashby; two sisters, Elaine Tukianen of NH, and Judy Jensen of GA; one brother, David Tukianen of Ashby; many nieces, nephews and a large number of cousins.
She was born on March 16, 1956, in Fitchburg, MA a daughter of the late Richard Tukianen. She graduated from North Middlesex Regional High School and was the self-proclaimed “Queen of Surfing.” She worked in the Winchendon Public School System for many years, then at the ARC in Fitchburg, and most recently was a bus driver for Vanpool.
She was known as a practical joker who loved to have fun. She enjoyed road trips, reading, the Amish culture, and spending time with her grandson most of all. She was a former member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Gardner. Her family was the most important part of her life.
