Harold L. "Harry" Wagner

TEMPLETON - Harold L “Harry” Wagner, 64 of 212 Freight Shed Road, Baldwinville died peacefully Wednesday evening, September 7th, at his home in Spruce Lodge with Elsa Paton and other friends by his side.

Harry, known as Butch to his mother and early friends, was born in San Antonio Texas on April 15, 1947. He was the son of Harold W. and Gertrude (McClure) Wagner.

Harry moved to Templeton Developmental Center in 1971 and was employed as a janitor until 2004 until going to work at Cushing Academy to work as a dishwasher. As a young man he was active in the Boy Scouts of America, with whom he traveled throughout the United States and Canada including Hawaii. He was a member of the Templeton Chorus and the Bell Choir. He participated in and won the annual Talent show. Harry especially enjoyed the annual Ferncol Fair where he greeted the Fair goers.

Harry was an experienced traveler who enjoyed many vacations, especially Disney Land. He also loved the Ocean. He made friends everywhere he went.

He was a participant of the Special Olympics throughout his life and won many medals. He will be remembered as a kind and thoughtful man who enjoyed life and shared that enjoyment with others.

He is survived by many friends at TDC and his guardian Elsa Paton and long time special friend Bob Canu.

Funeral services for Harry will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 10:30 AM in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. The Rev. Francis A. Roberge will officiate. A calling hour will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Wednesday, preceding the service.

Burial will be at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery, Templeton.
