GARDNER - Gloria E.  Michalewicz Née Cormier, born July 1925 in Leominster, MA, passed away on March 28th, 2023. A wife, friend, sister, aunt and great aunt, Gloria will be remembered by loved ones for her caring nature and devotion to family. Many others will fondly remember her as a great friend and a classy and elegant hostess. All looked up to Gloria and she will be forever missed.

Gloria was born and raised in Leominster where she graduated from Leominster High-school. Gloria had a dedicated career for 40 years as a Grant Plastics secretary in Townsend, Ma where they produced dolls. Here she met her life-long friend Beverly.

Gloria lived a full life accompanied by her loving husband Frank of 50 years with whom she shared many precious memories.  After his passing she chose to remain in the special home they shared, where she hosted more of her iconic parties. These parties, whether in the parlor or at their camp on Snake Pond, is where many have fond memories of their time with Gloria.

Gloria is predeceased by her husband Frank and sister Margaret Sharos. She is survived by her brother Louis Cormier, countless nieces and nephews, and their growing families. Gloria had a talent for remembering everyone’s birthdays. She saw each birthday and holiday as an opportunity to send thoughtful mementos that she had collected over her many years. Gloria, ever the social butterfly, is also survived by many friends from the various social groups and clubs she joined over the years. 

Gloria will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchedon, MA to be witnessed by friends and family led by prayer on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s at stjude.org.
