Eunice M. Brigham

GARDNER – Eunice M. (Basley) Brigham, 100, of Gardner, formerly of Rutherford and Lyndhurst, NJ, died peacefully Thursday morning, January 10, 2019 in Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on May 13, 1918, daughter of Allen A. and Golda (Thorpe) Basley and was a graduate of Butler, High School in Butler, NJ and attended secretarial school.  She was a resident of Rutherford, NJ for over 40 years and had lived in northern New Jersey for most of her life until moving here six years ago.

Eunice had worked as a librarian in the Rutherford Public Library.  She loved to read and spend time with her family.

Her husband of 70 years, Ward E. Brigham Jr., died in 2013.  She leaves two children, Ward A. Brigham of Winchendon and Barbara Stepkowski of Winchendon and Brimfield, MA; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  A sister, Helen Smith, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 2 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.

Entombment will be in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge, New Jersey.
