Elsie M. Proulx

GARDNER – Elsie M. (Cosentino) Proulx, 87, of 30 Graham Street, died peacefully Monday, April 13, 2020 in Wachusett Manor Nursing Home, Gardner after losing her battle with the Covid 19 virus after a nine day fight.

She was born in Springfield, MA on May 14, 1932, the daughter of the late Furivanti and Bernice (Bowers) Cosentino and was a graduate of Gardner High School. Elsie  was a devout Catholic and a member of the Holy Spirit Church in Gardner.

All of her life she was devoted to her family as a stay at home mom, proudly raising six children.  She was a wonderful seamstress, knitter and crocheted many things for her family. Elsie also shared those skills by teaching others.  She enjoyed camping, shopping, reading, entertaining and making her famous spaghetti and meatballs spending time with her extended family every Sunday.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, David L. Proulx Sr; six children, David L. Proulx Jr. and his wife Karen of Galax Virginia, Donna Gauvin and her husband Christopher of Athol, Anna Enright of Leominster, Gale Landry and her partner Henry Lantagne of Lunenburg, James Proulx and his wife Tamra of Lunenburg and Susan Anderson and her husband Mark of East Templeton; a brother, Donald Cosentino and his wife Aline of Gardner; a sister, Susan Turcotte and her husband Ernest of Baldwinville; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a date and time to be announced.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Elsie’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, PO Box 1000 Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
