Donald Murray

WINCHENDON - Donald G. Murray, 71, of 116 Ipswich Drive, died Monday, July 11th in the Goodall Hospital, Sanford, Maine after being stricken ill. He was born in Athol, MA. on February 6,1934, the son of Byron R. Murray, Sr. and Aline J. (Laperriere) Murray and was raised in Winchendon. He resided in Rindge, NH for 39 years before returning to Winchendon this year. Don attended Winchendon schools and received his GED while in the service. He was a groundskeeper at the Winchendon School before his retirement. Don was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a member of the John Humiston Post 11, American Legion in Jaffrey, NH. He was a communicant of St. Patrick Church in Jaffrey. Don leaves a son, Donald B. Murray of Winchendon; a brother, Byron R. Murray, Jr. of Gardner; two grandsons, Jonathan R. Addams and Clayton F. Murray; and his long-time companion, Vicki L. Bartlett of Rindge. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, July 14th at 8 P.M. in the Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Stret, Winchendon. Private burial will take place in the Mass. Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. Memorial calling hours will be held Thursday from 6-8 P.M. in the funeral home, prior to the service.
