Well, it appears I've shuffled off this mortal coil and found myself in the peculiar position of writing my own obituary. I, Daniel R. Quesnel, also known as Dan-the-Man to my nearest and dearest, kicked the bucket on November 20, 2024. Born on a cold February day in 1972 in Gardner, MA, I had the audacity to be ambitious, reliable, spirited, and smart, in no particular order.
They say that I was an engineer by trade, and while that's true, let me tell you, it's not as glamorous as it sounds. I worked at a TV station, but don't let that fool you. I didn't shake hands with celebrities or party at glitzy events. I was the man behind the scenes, making sure things didn't explode or spontaneously combust. I resided in Arlington, Texas, because, why not? I was married to the love of my life, Lisa, who I tricked into saying "I do" on a spooky Halloween night in 2007. Boy, did she get more than she bargained for!
As Mark Twain once quipped, "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated." I wholeheartedly agree, but here we are. I leave behind my wonderful wife, Lisa Quesnel, and my parents Ronald and Peggy Quesnel. They've all put up with my shenanigans for years, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
I'll be holding court for the last time at Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central St., Winchendon. Visitation is set for Monday, December 2, 2024, from 4-6 pm. A calling hour will precede the funeral service on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 from 10:30-11:30 am, with the funeral service following , at 11:30 am in the funeral home.
I invite you to leave your favorite stories of my misadventures and upload any embarrassing photos you managed to snap over the years on the memorial page. After all, a man's life should be measured not by his years but by the amount of laughter he inspired.
Directors Kevin J. Mack, Walter C. Taylor, are making sure I don't pull any last-minute pranks.
