Claudette A. Vaillancourt

We gather here today to remember the life of our beloved Claudette Anne Vaillancourt, who was born on April 21, 1938, in Winchendon, MA. 

Claudette was a beacon of love and warmth, with a heart that had room for everyone. She was a woman of many talents, but her most cherished role was that of a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel special, always putting her family first. Her beautiful legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Claudette was a dedicated and talented woodworker, contributing her skills to the furniture manufacturing industry until her retirement. Claudette loved camping with her family and spending time at the Senior Center. She loved to travel and take road trips to see the country and visit family. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Eugene Connor American Legion Post 193, where her dedication and kindness left a significant mark. 

Claudette is survived by her daughter, Joni Gorecki (William); son Bruce Vaillancourt; grandchildren Eric Gorecki (Rose), Elizabeth Findley (Anthony), Elissa Berry, Ethan Gorecki, Teri Davis, Felicia Vaillancourt, and Homer “Joe” Vaillancourt III; great grandchildren Felicia, Sabrina, Victoria, Jaeda, Moeketsi, Samuel, Benjamin, Patrick, Natalie, Robert “Trip”, Russell, Anthony, and Jagger; great-great grandchildren Sophia, Zoe, Owen, Amelia, Elena, Vadin, Aviana, and Aria; sisters Nacy Wheeler (David) and Patricia Lemmer; brother Alfred Gauthier Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred “Bob” and Grace Gauthier; her husband Homer Vaillancourt Sr.; her sons Homer Vaillancourt Jr. and Steven Vaillancourt; her great grandson Arik Davis; her brothers Earl Gauthier, George “Snipe” Gauthier, Alan Gauthier; and sister June Wood. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Claudette’s name to the Old Murdock Senior Center, P.O. Box 50, Winchendon, MA 01475. 

Claudette’s funeral will be held at Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central St., Winchendon, MA, on Monday, June 9, 2025, at 10:00 am. 

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a service by the Ladies Auxillary at 7:00 p.m.
