WINCHENDON - Arthur R. Moore, 82, of 20 Poland Avenue, died Friday, September 2nd in the Wachusett Extended Care Facility, Holden following an illness. He was born in Stoneham, MA. on January 23,1923, the son of Carl and Alicia (Payne) Moore and had resided in Winchendon for 15 years. Arthur was a graduate of Medford High School with the class of 1941. He was an industrial arts teacher at Burlington High School before his retirement. Arthur was a U.S. Army veteran of World War Two and served in the North Solomons Campaign. He was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. His wife of 56 years, Mary A. (Fiore) Moore, died last year. He leaves a son, Alan R. Moore of Taunton; a daughter, Deborah A. Moore-Percival of Winchendon, with whom he lived; a brother, Frederick R. Moore of Maine; a sister, Janet A. Alberti of Franklin; three grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. The Snow-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, is directing arrangements. www.snow-ladeau.com
