Alfred F. Lafortune

WINCHENDON – Alfred F. Lafortune, 90, of 57 Hyde Park Drive, died peacefully Monday morning, September 6, 2021 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

He was born in Winchendon on March 9, 1931, son of the late Francis and Yvonne (Labrie) Lafortune.  A resident of Jaffrey, NH at one time, Alfred was a resident of Winchendon for most of his life.

Alfred was a maintenance worker and custodian at Baldwinville Nursing Home for several years.  A fan of harness horse racing, he formerly raced sulky horses at race tracks in the New England and New York area.

He leaves three sisters, Yvonne Laferte of Viera, FL, Shirley Nunly of Louisa, VA and Jean Goodwin of Winchendon and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Aldia Houghton, Leon Lafortune, Norman Lafortune, Edmund Lafortune, Richard Lafortune, Robert Lafortune and Albert Lafortune.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 1:30 P.M. in Riverside Cemetery, Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
