TEMPLETON - Leo A. Bois, Jr., 70, of 12 Spring Street, Ware, formerly of Templeton, died Saturday afternoon, October 18th, in the Mary Lane Hospital, Ware. He was born in Somerville on October 4, 1938, the son of the late Leo A. and Angelina Rose (Castellano) Bois and moved to Baldwinville at the age of 10. He lived in Winchendon for a few years and then he moved to Templeton in 1958. He lived in Templeton for over 40 years until he retired and moved to Mexico Beach, FL. Leo was a graduate of the former Templeton High School. Leo entered the Marines at the age of 18 and proudly served as a Lt. Corporal in reconnaissance from 1957 to 1963. He then transferred in to the Air Force and the Mass. Air National Guard. Overall, he served 30 years in the military. He was a member of the Eugene M. Connor American Legion Post 193 in Winchendon and the Marine Corps League of Massachusetts. Leo worked for twenty years as a charge attendant at the Walter E. Fernald State School in Baldwinville. After his retirement he worked as a security officer for The Wackenhut Corporation in Shrewsbury. He was a volunteer firefighter, EMT First Responder and a member of the Templeton Fire Department and Rescue Squad. In the late 1980's, he retired from the fire department. While living in Florida, he became a State Certified Fire Department Engineer and was the first person in the State of Florida to be given a lifetime membership in to the Fire Department. He was also a volunteer phlebotomist at Tyndall Air Force Base. His hobbies included working on cars and he was an enthusiast of guns and the military. He leaves his wife of 48 years, Christine C. (Anderson) Bois; one son, Leo A. Bois and his wife Melissa of Gardner, one daughter, Lori Rossner and her husband John of Ware, three grandchildren, David Rossner, Anthony Rossner and Angelina Thompson, four great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Dora Leppert and a brother, Dennis Bois. Military funeral services will be held Thursday, October 23rd at 1:00 P.M. in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon. There are no calling hours.
