GARDNER – Ray A. Gibson, 51, of 105B Main Road, Phillipston, formerly of Gardner and Templeton, died peacefully Thursday morning, January 28th at the residence of his son.
He was born in Gardner on September 8, 1964, son of the late Albert Leon Gibson and Shirley (Glidden) Constantine of Gardner. Ray grew up in Templeton and graduated in 1982 from Narragansett Regional High School. He was a resident of Gardner for several years until moving to Phillipston a year ago.
Ray worked for 27 years for Fall Mountain Furniture Company as a foreman. He set up stores around the country with new shelvings. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as kayaking and white water rafting. A member of the Templeton Fish and Gun Club, Ray was also a fan of the New England Patriots. He treasured time with his family and loved his grandchildren.
His wife of 21 years, Paula Jean (Hicks) Gibson, died in 2013. In addition to his mother, he leaves a son, Mathew Gibson and his wife Missy of Athol and their four children, Axonna, Damien, Zoey and Mathew Jr.; two brothers, Wally J. Gibson and Jimmy A. Gibson, both of Gardner; a sister, Debbie Bilodeau and her husband Ed of Gardner; several nieces and nephews, including Krystal Homon of Taftsville, CT, Christina Homon of Gardner and Sara Glidden of Hubbardston. Ray also leaves Amanda Francoeur and her husband Joe of Gardner, Cassie Lachance of Templetonand her fiancé Mark Person Jr and David Morris of Gardner, all of whom he helped to raise.
