WEST YARMOUTH - Paula L. "Mopsie" Davis, 70, of 44 Ivanhoe Avenue, died peacefully Thursday afternoon, November 8, 2018 in Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis.
She was born in Cambridge on August 3, 1948, daughter of George and Natalie (Boyd) Davis and was raised by Charles and Freda Davis. Paula grew up in South Acton and graduated from Acton-Boxboro High School. She later attended Cape Cod Community College.
Paula proudly served her country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. She had worked as a secretary and had worked for Security Neighborhood Watch, Dunkin Donuts and at the local thrift shop on Cape Cod.
She leaves a daughter, Heather Poirier of Bartlett, Ohio, her grandchildren, Crystale L. Roussell, Amber S. Davis, Caitlin R. Ruble and Troy A. Poirier Jr; great grandchildren, Jesiah J. Roussell, Brandon C. Ruble, Josefina Grace Roussell and Karson R. Ruble; a son John R. Windland and his children, Destiny R. Windland and Destiny L. Windland; her siblings, John R. Davis and his wife Carol of Hackettstown, NJ, Karl R. Davis and his wife Susan of PA, Earl G. Davis and his wife Sandy of Fayville, MA, Katherine Collins and her husband Scott of Lunenburg, MA and Jennifer Davis of Gardner. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. . A grandson, Robert Braxton Dunlow, died as a baby. Three siblings, Robert Davis, Edward Davis and Larry Davis, also preceded her in death.
Military funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 2 P.M. in Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon are Tuesday from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M.
